Community Outreach
Who We Help
We assist a variety of families. Some need our assistance to get them through until the next payday. Some suddenly
find themselves single after the strain of multiples has broken up their marriage. Some have other children and the
surprise of multiples has put a strain on their budget. Others have a child with a severe medical condition. We serve
families with multiples throughout the Denver Metro Area.
How Community Outreach Helps
We are currently working with 15-25 member families a month. We help with donations of clothing and equipment
from our members. We also assist with groceries, diapers, formula, clothing and supplies. At the MOMS Sale we offer
families the opportunity to pre-shop the items tagged for Community Outreach, as well as give them "Baby Bucks" to
shop at the sale. We also donate hundreds of items to hospitals and other organizations.
Second Chances Thrift Store
Second Chances is a thrift store operated by a group committed to empowering disadvantaged women. The
employees receive career and life-skill training. Second Chances specializes in maternity, baby, and toddler items
donated by the public and sold at discount prices. Any items that are not sold at our sales, and not taken home by
the member seller, are donated to the Second Chances thrift store. www.secondchancesdenver.org
How MOMS Members Support Community Outreach
MOMS members support our Community Outreach families with baskets at Thanksgiving and presents for the kids at
Christmas. MOMS members donate items to families when needs arise and tag some of their sale items to benefit
Community Outreach. They also volunteer their time to support families in need.
How Others Can Help
MOMS Community Outreach accepts financial and in-kind donations. As a 501(c)3 organization, all donations are
tax-deductible. We also apply for grants to help us support families in need.
If you would like to apply for assistance or have other questions, please contact us. To receive assistance, families
must have or be pregnant with multiples, live in the Denver metro area and join MOMS. If a family is unable to pay
dues, scholarships are available.
